HOBBIES AND INTERESTS
I like reading books about cross-cultural topics, didactics, psychology and physics. In my free time I also enjoy walking by the seaside or in the countryside and, by night, going to “milongas”. Last but not least: drinking a cup of coffee with my friends, having a pizza with them and going to the cinema.

EXCURSIONS AND LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
Sarzana is a little medieval town on the border between Liguria and Tuscany, not far from the sea and with the Apennines as a backdrop. Thanks to its wonderful location, visitors have plenty of travel opportunities, including hiking along mountain trails (Montemarcello Park and Apuan Alps) relaxing on the beach, exploring tiny fishing villages along the Ligurian coast (Tellaro, Cinque Terre), admiring art treasures (Sarzana Cathedral; St Peter’s church in Portovenere), and visiting ancient archaeological sites (the Roman city of Luni) and the castles of near villages (Castelnuovo and Fosdinovo).
In addition, in summer, Sarzana hosts several cultural events like “The Attic in the Street” (a flea market), the Festival of the Mind (a theme festival dealing with creativity and psychology), a renowned antiquarian exhibit, the “Book along the Street”, a festival devoted to reading and books and “Sconfinando”, a music festival hosting international artists.

ACCOMMODATION, FACILITIES AND LOCAL AREA
I live in a little loft with a beautiful view of the Apuan Alps. My home is 2 km from the centre of Sarzana. There’s a bus stop right across the road but the city centre is within walking distance. In my flat there are two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room with a fireplace, a big terrace… and two cats.

SARZANA
Sarzana is located a few kilometres away from the Ligurian sea coast and from the borderline with Tuscany. The town still now preserves the ancient aspect of the medieval centre, visitors can marvel at beautiful churches, picturesque monuments, large squares and characteristic suburbs, in particular two wonderful and impressive fortresseses remain intact, the Firmafede Fortresses or “Cittadella” and the Fortresses of Sarzanello.  The areas surrounding Sarzana offer also the chance to enjoy the close Ligurian sea with the sea resorts in Marinella, just a few kilometres from the city. We are dealing with a striking sandy coastal about 3 km long. Sarzana’s cuisine follows with some variations the Ligurian and Lunigiana’s cuisines, especially the farinata, the focaccia and the testaroli and in Sarzana’s surroundings, you can find many small wineries producing many high quality white wines.
