Attending Reggio Lingua has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life. For anyone considering learning Italian, I cannot recommend this school highly enough. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the extraordinary warmth and dedication of everyone at Reggio Lingua.

First and foremost, Daniela’s efforts to ensure an exceptional experience are unparalleled. She goes above and beyond to match students with amazing host families, making the transition into Italian life seamless and enjoyable. The extracurricular cultural activities are equally remarkable. During my stay, I had the privilege of visiting the local Museum of Tricolore, attending an exhilarating local basketball match, touring the iconic Valli Theater behind the scenes, and even exploring a traditional balsamic vinegar producer. Each of these experiences added incredible depth to my understanding of Italian culture and history.

The teachers at Reggio Lingua are phenomenal. Patient, skilled, and deeply passionate about teaching, they create an engaging and supportive learning environment. Their coordination is impeccable, ensuring a seamless progression from lesson to lesson without losing time revisiting past material unnecessarily. The curriculum strikes the perfect balance between grammar and practical use, with an emphasis on speaking—even if you make mistakes—which fosters both confidence and fluency.

The city of Reggio Emilia itself is another gem. English is not widely spoken, which provides the perfect immersive environment to practice Italian in real-life situations. The locals are friendly, the food is incredible, and the sights are charming. The city’s efficient local transport system makes it easy to take day trips to iconic destinations like Modena, Parma, Bologna, Florence, Venice, and Milan.

Another standout aspect is the small class sizes, which allow for plenty of opportunities to practice speaking and listening. The global community of students creates a wonderfully diverse and encouraging atmosphere. It was inspiring to be surrounded by people from all over the world, united by their eagerness to learn.

My experience at Reggio Lingua was nothing short of extraordinary. I arrived with minimal Italian and left with a newfound love for the language, culture, and people. If you are on the fence about attending, take this as your sign to go for it—you will not regret it!
