Corso di lingua italiana a casa dell'insegnante a Reggio Emilia

Ciao Reggio Lingua !
Sono stato molto contento del mio corso homestay con la famiglia di Giorgia. Giorgia e' un' insegnante meravigliosa e paziente: aspettava con attenzione e calma le mie risposte e ascoltava la pronuncia di ogni mia parola. Con lei era facile parlare: abbiamo parlato di tutto! Anche la famiglia e' stata molto simpatica e gentile. Dal primo momento che prendevo il caffe' la mattina all'ultima parola del giorno, mi sono sentito incluso nella famiglia. Ho avuto cinque persone che sono state i miei insegnanti! Ho anche fatto lezioni di canto con Paola T. e ho studiato con lei per un' ora al giorno. E' stato molto gratificante e il mio canto e' migliorato enormemente! Il mio corso homestay e' stato piu' di cio' che sperassi e mi riprometto di ritornare l'anno prossimo per sette o otto giorni.

I am on the plane heading home and am feeling eternally grateful for the experiences of the last two weeks.
I posted a brief summary of my first ten days and want to share some other important details.
Again, I want to thank with my whole heart the teacher's family, and especially Giorgia, who have been so patient and gentle with my Italian language acquisition. It has been a gift to have four teachers every day for a week, who guide me, encourage me, and believe that I will speak Italian well. As I said to Giorgia the day before I left-- "what am I going to do without you?" She is a gifted teacher who evokes conversation when I did not think that I could have a dialogue about politics, music, the Catholic Church and sociological dynamics in today's world. Grazie mille, Giorgia!
I want to acknowledge my voice teacher, Signora Paola T., with whom I have studied the last four summers in Reggio Emilia. Between my voice coach in St. Paul, Dr. Laura Nichol, and Signora Paola T., my singing has improved. I had a successful re-audition for the Minnesota Chorale. Signora Paola T. sings with the Verdi Festival every October and reinforces what Dr. Nichols believes that I need to learn.
Giorgia was so kind to drive me to Verdi's birth house and to the Verdi Museum. What an experience! I do hope that I will make the roster for the Verdi Requiem with the Minnesota Orchestra in February.
